Book Blogger HopWelcome to Friday! I haven’t managed to do a lot of reading this week ๐Ÿ™ I am enjoying The Secret History of the Pink Carnation by Lauren Willig though.

Down to business: The Hop! This is hosted by Jen at Crazy For Books. All rules and the sign up can be found there ๐Ÿ™‚ This week’s question is:

Who is your all time favourite villain?

To be honest, I don’t read a lot of thriller/murders/mysteries so this is a tough question. I would probably have to pick someone like Heathcliff – because he is angry, makes life hard for Cathy but because I feel sorry for him too – having been treated badly by Catherine and her brother and with a questionable family history. Some view him as the hero of Wuthering Heights; I don’t, to me he is the villain but he made the book entertaining.

Thanks for stopping by. Do leave a message with your answer and a link to your site ๐Ÿ™‚

It is that time of the week again, and I’m excited as I started this day by finishing a book: Remember Me? by Sophie Kinsella. I didn’t think it was her best book but I did enjoy it, and read 100 pages in one sitting. For various reasons – namely the fact my husband and I are re-watching West Wing my reading has been slow to get get started this year, but I have finished two books this week so I’m a happy girl! Anyway, down to business…

Book Blogger HopThe Book Blogger Hop is hosted over at Crazy-For-Books, go check it out – read the rules and join in! This week the question is:

“What book are you most looking forward to seeing published in 2011? ย Why are you anticipating that book?”

I think I’m most looking forward to The Iron Knight by Julie Kagawa. This is Ash’s story, and it has to be said, I love this series and cannot wait for this to be released!

Pop over and check it out! The question asked at Follow Friday is:

What was your favourite subject at school?

Mine was history! I just loved it – so much I now have two history degrees ๐Ÿ™‚ I don’t do anything with it now, I work in the church office, but I love the subject and love reading historical novels.

Please leave a comment if you pop by, and feel free to become a follower! Have a great day and weekend ๐Ÿ™‚

Book Blogger HopIt’s Friday, and time for the Hop! To join in and read the rules hop over to Crazy For Books! This week’s question is:

“What do you consider the most important in a story: the plot or the characters?”

Probably the plot. That, and usually the cover are what draw me to a book. I can often read put up with annoying characters if the plot is good and I have a desire to find out what happens.

Follow Friday is hosted by Parajunkee. Head over there to find out more! The guest blog this week is Rabid Reads – don’t forget to check the site out! This week’s question is:

What did you study in college, or are currently studying and did it lead to your current 9 to 5 or are you doing something totally different?

I studied history at university, thinking I would go into museum work. However, part way through the course I fell out of love with history – except now for novels and TV dramas! I finished my degree with a 2:1 but am currently serving my church for a year, mainly doing admin for our communications department. Oddly, I actually really enjoy it, and this is such a worthwhile year ๐Ÿ™‚

Thanks for dropping by! Do look round and leave some comments. Let me know who you are and where I can visit you!

Book Blogger HopIt that time again! I haven’t been able to join in for a while because Friday used to be a work day, but as it is now my day off, I’m back! Go over to crazy-for-books.com to read the rules and how to join in! This week’s question is:

“If you find a book that looks interesting but is part of a series, do you always start with the first title?”

Yes! I don’t want to miss out on any of the action and the chance to get to know the characters. Even the Discworld series I began at the beginning, although not every character is in every book. I don’t want to miss out on anything!

Do leave a comment if you have dropped by, and I hope you like my site and reviews ๐Ÿ™‚

Book Blogger HopBook Blogger Hop is hosted by Jen at Crazy For Books. The question asked this week is:

Post a link to a favorite post or book review that you have written in the past three months.

One of my favourite posts is:

The Iron King by Julie Kagawa

I loved the book so much and it was so easy to write this review and fill it will passion and honesty. Similarly, I also like the review of:

The Book of Lost Things by John Connolly

I gave both these books 5/5, and I loved reading and writing about them ๐Ÿ™‚

The question asked is:

My question for you guys, eBook or Print?

Easy: print! I love being able to hold a book, carry it around with me, and show it some love! I do have a lot of ebooks, but I find the computer chair uncomfortable and I don’t like looking at a screen for long periods of time. I also think there is something special about a physical book that you don’t get with an ebook.

Hello! Welcome to Friday! This means it is time for the Book Blogger Hop and Follow Friday!

Book Blogger HopBook Blogger Hop is hosted by Jen at Crazy For Books. The question asked this week is:

Do you judge a book by its cover?

Sometimes. If a cover is a bit plain I can be put off. I am definitely attracted by covers, and will often pick up books because I think the cover is pretty! If I want to read the book before I see the cover I won’t be put off, but yeah sometimes a dull cover or a picture I don’t like will stop me picking up a book.

The question asked is:

My question for you guys, what is your favorite brick and mortar bookstore?

Probably Waterstones. The one in Brighton is over four floors and I love it! They usually have a three for two offer on as well, which tempts me. Sadly I can’t afford many books so I end up buying them from Amazon Marketplace, getting them as review books or taking them out of the library.

Hello! Welcome to Friday! This means it is time for the Book Blogger Hop and Follow Friday!

Book Book Blogger HopBlogger Hop is hosted by Jen at Crazy For Books. The question asked this week is:

Do you use a rating system for your reviews and if so, what is it and why?

I do use a rating system. I rate books out of 5, and use flowers to indicate how many out of 5 I give. In my side bar you can see the rating system. I use it because I think it is easier and quicker to know what the person thinks of a book by using a rating system. It also helps me to remember what I thought of a book too! It might not be great, but it works for me.

The question asked is:

My question for you guys, what is the first book that you remember reading?

I remember reading Spot The Dog! I know my oldest brother used to read to me, as well as my parents (there is a great photo of him cuddling me and reading!) I remember other books such as Enid Blyton’s Magic Faraway Tree and The Animals of Farthing Wood, but I think I read them when I was older. I have always been a reader though ๐Ÿ™‚

To help us get to know each other, Jen asks a question each week. This weekโ€™s is:

How many books do you have on your ‘to be read shelfโ€™?

Like Jen, mine is more than just one shelf. However, I don’t have as many! I have 25 review books to read and 52 to be read. This doesn’t sound a lot compared to others, but my husband thinks it is too many! To see what the books are check out My Book Piles.

If you are hopping by do leave a comment so I can come see you!

Do you listen to music when you read? If so, what are your favourite reading tunes?

Recently, I have been listening to 3 Doors Down while I read, but I often read in silence.
