Many of these are mentioned, referenced, or read by other characters such as, The History of the Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire, Myra Waldo's Travel and Motoring Guide to Europe, What Colour is Your Parachute and The Mojo Collection. You've also got the movie aspect, as was noted by the Yearling and is true for many other, Lord of the Rings, Room With a View, Rosmary's Baby etc. Though I'm sure it's admirable to try to read most of these I'm sure it's best to use discretion, what good is Selected Hotels of Europe going to do you? Feel like a Treky, but at least I’m not the only one.
